Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration Event – September 29, 2023

Objective: The aim of this activity is to provide an opportunity for children to experience the atmosphere of family reunion during the Mid-Autumn Festival and deeply understand the meaning of togetherness.

Activity Description: The school organized a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration event titled “Gathering in the “Tong” and “Sen” Forest to Welcome Mid-Autumn.” Parents and children were invited to participate together. The event featured adventurous games constructed using natural materials, with elements of the Mid-Autumn Festival incorporated in various classrooms. Through these activities, children were able to gain a profound understanding of the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the importance of family reunion.

Student Feedback:  The children actively participated in the Mid-Autumn Festival activities and engaged in various games. The event effectively enhanced their awareness and knowledge of Chinese culture.

 

Cantonese Opera Showcase under the Bamboo Theatre at Victoria Park – October 5, 2023

Objective: The aim of this activity is to provide an opportunity for children to experience Chinese traditional culture and understand the development of Cantonese opera.

Activity Description: The children participated in the school’s Cultural Day event, the Victoria Park Cantonese Opera Pavilion Performance, organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Through this event, the children were introduced to the costumes and singing techniques of Cantonese opera, as well as the structure of the opera pavilion.

Student Feedback:  The children enthusiastically enjoyed the Cantonese opera performance and had the opportunity to experience the costumes. The event effectively enhanced their awareness and knowledge of Chinese culture.

Grandparents’ Day Celebration – November 20, 2023

Objective: To cultivate positive character traits in young children, such as respect and gratitude, and to teach them to appreciate their family members. The aim is to express gratitude and show respect to our grandparents.

Activity Description: The school organized a “Grandparents’ Day” event, inviting grandparents to participate. During the event, the children expressed their gratitude to their grandparents through performances, interactive games, and taking group photos.

Student Feedback: The children thoroughly enjoyed participating in the activities and had the opportunity to express their gratitude to their grandparents through meaningful and concrete actions. Through this event, they learned about the admirable character traits in Chinese culture and gained a better understanding of traditional Chinese values.
